The burn department was established in 1958, in 1959 it began to treat large-size burn patients, opening a new era for the clinical treatment of large-size burn.
It is well equipped with modernized facilities and trained and skillful personals.
Through several years efforts, it became the center of Hebei burn basic research and clinical treatment institute, training base of graduate of Hebei Medical University and key development subject of Hebei, owning a certain level in medical service, teaching and research as well as prevention.
It consists of 60 working staff, including 19 physicians and 41 nurses. Of them, 2 got high professional rank, 6 vice high professional rank and 11 senior professional rank.1 has doctor degree, 6 master degree and 3 tutors of master degree.
The specialities including:
Clinical diagnosis and treatment of burns(scald, flame burn,electric burn, crush trauma,chemical burn and radiation injury) and cold injury, repairing and reconstruction of scar contracture and deform can be conducted , especially the large-size sever burns, inhalation injury of respiratory tract, deep burn at different functional sites, contact electric burn and crush injury possess a leading position domestically.
The department is made of burn outpatients, rehabilitation room, skin tissue bank,burn lab, burn operation room, medium and small-size burn ward and ICU.
Introduction to director
Xu Gang, the leading director of the department, vice president of Tangshan Gongren Hospital, vice chairman member of Hebei burn plastic association of Chinese burn medical society, vice chief editor of Chinese clinical medical progress, director of Hebei burn institute and tutor of graduate, graduating from Burn plastic surgery of Hebei Medical University, has been working on burn plastic major for 14 years. He went to France for furthering his study in 1998 for 3 months. As the first research member, he took on 11 scientific research programs of Hebei province and Tangshan city in recent years, 4 of which won the prizes for progress in science and technology and other 4 of which have been finished and 3 of which gained phrase progression. He has published 30 articles and 2 books. His program ” a series of study on burn hemodynamics and microcirculation ” is recognized to own international level. He introduced and developed 58 new technological programs, enriching his experiences in clinical treatment of large size severe burn. He is proficient in clinical rescue of large size burn patients, early repairing of functional burn,electric burn,crush injury and avulsed wound, scar repairing following burn and rehabilitation of burn
